Frequently Asked Questions

How do I sync my Apple Watch with the iPhone app?

The Apple Watch app automatically syncs with your iPhone when both devices are nearby and connected. Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on both devices. After completing a round on your watch, open the iPhone app to see your data.

Why aren't my GPS distances accurate?

Ensure Location Services are enabled for myGolfEdge in Settings > Privacy > Location Services. For best and most secure results, allow "While Using the App" access. GPS accuracy can also be affected by weather, tree cover, and tall buildings.

How is my handicap index calculated?

Your handicap index is calculated using the World Handicap System formula, based on the best 8 of your most recent 20 rounds. You need at least 3 rounds to generate an initial handicap index.

What is strokes gained and how do I use it?

Strokes gained compares your performance to a benchmark on every shot. Positive numbers mean you're gaining strokes (better than average), negative numbers mean you're losing strokes. Use it to assess and evaluate individual parts of your game: driving, approach, wedges, short game, and putting. Strokes gained by club also gives valuable insights for smarter on-course decision making. This technique, developed by Mark Broadie, is one of the most widely used methods to evaluate specific parts of your game.

Can I edit my round data after completing it?

Yes! Tap on the round in Rounds, select Edit Shot Data Manually. You can delete shots and modify shot data—Club, Lie, and Distance—but not shot GPS location. Score is calculated based on shot count for the round. After edits, Save updated round.

How do I add a new golf course?

In the Courses tab, tap the "+" button to add a new course. Search for courses by Course Name, by Nearby Current Location, or by City. Select desired course and tee box, then tap Import button for course scorecard and all GPS data. You have access to over 40,000 courses worldwide.
